Patreon: No Longer the Ideal Site

First, YouTube made changes that prevent the monetization of content such as mukbang, and now Patreon is targeting “disordered eating” content, which I find to be an insulting term.

I am offended that they categorize “Feederism” under the disordered eating section on their site, as I believe it should not be shunned. According to their updated guidelines, they are concerned with “normalizing” such behaviors.

A quote from the new “Community Guidelines” states this concern.

“Promoting, normalizing, providing instructional advice about, coordinating, or otherwise glorifying disordered eating, feederism, or related topics is prohibited on Patreon.

Examples of feederism works include, but are not limited to: force feeding (consensual or nonconsensual), using illegal or controlled substances to achieve weight gain, using devices to fill the stomach, and so forth.”

At least Patreon is allowing content related to “body positivity, eating competitions, and lifestyle works” to remain on the site; however, it is absurd that they are purging other types of content.
