Rant: Dealing with Multiple Health Data is a Pain

Dealing with multiple health devices can really be a pain, but it’s really been worth it lately; for those who don’t follow my Twitter or Instagram, I recently started using a Samsung Galaxy Watch for developing some Wear OS apps [namely an Eve Online alert system for station owners in game].

Some might be wondering what the hell I am blathering about, but don’t worry, I am getting there.

Well first and foremost many people know I had been using Google Fit to help with my weight gain/weight monitoring tool, but now Google in their infinite wisdom has sadly decided to start migrating everything to their new tool their calling “Health Connect” so that going to be a coding hellscape for me.

Either way, I am getting distracted, where was I? Oh! Right, using multiple devices.

Well, what I’ve started to do is use my Fitbit Charge 6 as a sleep tracker and my Galaxy Watch as my daily driver as it has many features that isn’t on the Fitbit, but also it looks much nicer once I put a rose gold cover/protector on the watch.

One issue I’ve been having lately which I am unsure if it’s my watch, the app or the locked down version of android I am running, but something is causing sync issues that I’ve yet to figure out.

Sometimes my Samsung Watch and Fitbit scale/Fitbit charge 6 will sync into “Health Connect” fine, but other times it just won’t, and I’ll have to manually go in and force it to sync and this is really making me annoyed.

If anyone has dealt with this issue in the past, let me know in the comments, since I am pulling my damn hair out right now dealing with this.
